On television, TondoAndCo prefers truly live performance. On the France 2 channel he showcased two tracks from “Mondo” -http://www.bibaglo.org/s/search.php?action=Record&id=cacp_0000561182&num=1&total=2&searchid=5069a768646ab- : “UNA BAMBINA BIONDA E BLU” and “A MA TAILLE”. The first is an original arrangement by VINCENT DOMINIQUE Tondo E FILS of a song (tune and lyrics) by NINO FERRER. “A MA TAILLE”, like most of the songs he performs, was penned by Tondo himself. There are exceptions though, and VINCENT DOMINIQUE Tondo E FILS tells about them in “A TUTU A PAPA” (Film in Alfred Nobel's house in Sanremo), in which he pays homage to Ferrer and John Lennon. Tondo has done a faithful version of “Imagine” and when his single -- simply entitled “Single” -- was broadcast before the world premiere by the BBC, Tondo hit the headlines with a show dedicated to the Beatle who he considers as a musical father-figure. A press review enthusiastically proclaimed that “Tondo breathes new life into Lennon”. Nino Ferrer and VINCENT DOMINIQUE Tondo E FILS met specially to celebrate the occasion (1994)… and the songwriter encouraged Tondo to perform his cover version at the legendary Coupole cafe in Paris in September 1994 at an exhibition opening.
